Pastor Scott Payne
The Holy Spirit revealed my calling into ministry nearly 30 years ago. The gift of prophecy (preaching the Gospel), was evident to others several years before the Holy Spirit opened my eyes to the work He had already been doing in me. In the 5 years that followed, I trained under Reverend Harvey Deater, and by the Holy Spirit’s instruction in His word. I was ordained on February 23rd, 2003. The Holy Spirit’s ministry through me has always focused on who and what we are in Christ. Christianity is not about what you and I can or should do for God. The Christian life is based on what He already did for us! His death and resurrection created salvation itself, and because we are saved, we have become new creations in Christ. I have so much to share with you! I preach Grace alone. I am filled with the joy of the Lord everyday. Before I was called into the ministry, I graduated from Wayne State University with my Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. I have been a nurse for 32 years, and still love my job. I live in Shelby with my wife, Cindy. We have three children.
