Ask, Seek, Knock-pt 1
October 23, 2022
This sermon series begins by bringing forward the following two passages and reconciling them. At first, they seem to be contradictory, but there is an explanation, and it helps us to understand a very important promise from God to us as Christians.
There is no one who is righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. Romans 3:10-12
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake. Matt 7:7-9
