The presence of God’s Glory is what makes us anything. He is—in us—everything. We are—apart from Him—nothing. This is how it all began with us. Before you were saved, you were already condemned. An object of scorn, full of shame, and an enemy of God. But rather than destroying us because we were these things, He gave us a place to live and time in which to dwell in this place. Through creation and time, He delayed our Judgement.
Creation and time gave us the opportunity to recognize the glory of God. He wanted to reveal Himself, so He adorned His creation with amazing beauty, unimaginable precision and detail, and a profound sense of purpose. That purpose was to reveal His love for those who were prisoners of sin. Therefore, His creation feeds us, shelters us, heals our wounds, inspires and awes us.
More than anything, He wanted the glory of His presence to be in you, not just around you. He wanted to save you. To be separate and cut off from Him is to be condemned and essentially dead, even though you were physically alive. To have His Presence dwell within you can only mean you have been saved. Judgement Day is now cause for great celebration! On that Day, you will receive a heavenly body and abide in the fullness of God’s glory, majesty, and love.
At one time, your human body gave you the only life you ever knew, with its desires, needs, talents, faults, and pleasures. It defined time for you. Now that you are saved, however, the Presence of God in you is a new life. The old life cannot compare to the new—not in power, not in joy, not in fulfillment, not in purpose, not in peace—not in any way. Peter called our old life, “the empty way of life handed down to you by your forefathers.” 1 Pet 1:18. Paul asked, “What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death!” -Rom 6:21
Dare I tell you that nothing can be wrong anymore? If Christ is in you—and He is—no trouble in this world can compare with the Presence of the Creator of the Universe dwelling in you! Paul put it this way, “If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all—how will He not also, along with Him, give us all things?”- Romans 8:31-32.
We have embarked on a one-Way journey to discover what “all things” means. The question could be asked: After giving us salvation through Your Son Jesus, what more could we need or want? But salvation was only the beginning. “It is for freedom that Christ set us free!” -Gal 5:1. To be saved is to suddenly know God and to be known by Him. We were born again so that we could be free to pursue the riches of our Father’s glory, power, and love. There is no end to “these things,” just as there is no end to who He is. If salvation was all there was, it would have been enough. But knowing He has promised to answer us when we ask, to be found when we seek Him, and to open doors when we knock, is too exciting to pass-up and too important to delay. We will never be the same.
